RENT-A-GOALIE SKATES TO MASTER'S DIVISION TITLE
With former NHLer Mike Kennedy in the lineup, Team Rent-A-Goalie topped the Brew Crew 9-2 to claim the Master's Division Championship druing the 20th annual North Bay Big Brothers hockey tournament at Pete Palangio Arena, Sunday.
Kensnedy, who played for the Dallas Stars and Toronto Maple Leafs before spending six seasons in Germany, had three assists for Rent-A-Goalie, while Tony Fletcher led the way with four goals, Shawn Roy, Joey Dixon, Chris Over, Rob Maisonneuve and Rob Ladouceur also scored for the winners. Ed Roy and Will Campbell scored for the Brew Crew.
The winning roster featured Chris Szarka, the producer of the Rent-A-Goalie television series, as well as North Bay's Mike Szarka, who recently served as an extra during filming of on-ice scenes.
The Rent-A-Goalie roster also included Mike Boutin, Denis Gauthier, Tom Diggles and goalie Steve Heittola.

THE FOLLOWING IS AN EMAIL FROM MIKE SZARKA SOON AFTER THE TOURNI
Just when you thought your liver was safe. The nightmare continues........... The organizers of the North Bay Womens Blizzard hockey tournament (Yes, the Mattawa Fire Department should be there!!) are running a Mens division in November and have invited the Rent A Goalie team to enter. Aparently we set some sort of beer sale record last weekend which translates to profit for the organizers. ha ha...... Anyway, it will be held either the November 09-11 weekend or the November 16-18 weekend. They will confirm later this month.
I would like to have all the same guys in the line up. This will be a CARHA sponsored tourney which means if we win, we qualify for an Ontario Sectional tourney which could lead to a trip to the Canadian Nationals. Let me know if you are IN.
